Some Good Resources

Thoughts and Resources for calming and health

Hello.  I think I should welcome myself back into action.

A rock, a candle and a flower.

Here are some things that are going on in my life:  I have been babysitting my little grandson, who is now one year old, and I do that two days a week.  I have also been volunteering at the information visitors services desk at the Minneapolis Institute of the Arts one or two days a week.  Then, I moved to another suburb, so I have been settling in and getting used to my new neighborhood.  I haven’t forgotten this website though, so I am ready to get back into action here.

Today I want to refer you to a really good resource that I have found and that I think might help you.

Then I want to let you know what I have been working on for the future.

“PZIZZ” a good resource for natural sleep

Do you have difficulty going to sleep?  To get some good rest, stay calm, and avoid the use of drugs, I recommend the app

called PZIZZ  It is available on the Apple app store.  The current edition of PZIZZ combines two earlier versions.  One is for

A tree and its reflection in a calm pool.

Being Calm

sleeping through the night.  It uses voice (gentle and calming) and music to quiet your mind and relax you.  I found that once when I was hospitalized it occasionally spoke to me during the night in a reassuring, quiet way, letting me know that everything was all right.  This app provides a very nice experience.

PZIZZ also provides a version for power naps.  You can select the length of time that you want to nap, then it will guide you through a nap starting with relaxation, resting, and then gradual waking when the time limit that you have chosen approaches.

I will describe other resources that I like in future posts.

What I am working on: A Meditation Course

I have been working on the design of a meditation course that I think will be helpful to a lot of people.  This will build on the material that is already on this website, and expand it.  This is a big project so it will take some time to complete.

I want to know what you want: so use the comment section to let me know.

  1. I’m amazed, I must say. Rarely do I encounter a blog that’s both equally educative
and entertaining, and without a doubt, you have hit
the nail on the head. The issue is something that too few men and women are speaking intelligently about.
I am very happy I stumbled across this in my hunt for
    something concerning this.

  2. Greetings! This is my first visit to your blog!

We are a collection of volunteers and starting a new project in a community in the same niche.
Your blog provided us valuable information to work on. You have done a marvellous job!
